<image:title>Stories of Hope - A Para-Sport: Eyes with Hope - The national level wheelchair basketball, para-sporting event was organised by Sundar Dhoka Saathi Sewa (SDSS) as a Bikash Shield in 2024. In the event, there were participants from all seven provinces of the country, however the situation of players from Madhesh Province (MP) was so critical.</image:title>
<image:caption>For the players from MP, it was their first attempt to play basketball, and they did not have sport wheelchair too. According to them, life with disability in MP is so challenging. Even though MP is geographically wheelchair friendly in comparison to hilly terrain, the attitudinal barriers make life of persons with disability miserable.</image:caption>

<image:title>Stories of Hope - Wheelchair is not just a device but part of my body: Service matters - Kamala Ghimire is a 41 years old woman with spinal cord injury (SCI). When she was just 28 years old, she fell down from a tree while collecting tree fodders for her livestock in her village called Mahangkaal. Despite her disability, she loves to do things independently and moves around too. As the roads of Nepal are not wheelchair friendly and it is more complicated to move around during the rainy season. Due to this, wheelchairs need regular repairing service and bearing its cost was a bit challenging, Kamala added.</image:title>
<image:caption>Repair and maintenance service of wheelchairs is a life-long needed thing. However, she is very thankful for the service provided by Bikash's Wheelchair Workshop (BWW). According to her, she got a wheelchair 2 times from Sundar Dhoka Saathi Sewa (SDSS) and regular repairing service from BWW, this service has increased her quality of life with freedom in mobility and less economic burden for me.</image:caption>

<image:title>Stories of Hope - Reason to live: SDSS is my lifeline - A 35-year-old young man with spinal cord injury (SCI) who has been serving in a Bikash's Wheelchair Workshop (BWW) has an amazing life-testimony in connection with Sundar Dhoka Saathi Sewa (SDSS). Kedar Khadka, a wheelchair user since the age of 14 years old, fell from a tree while collecting tree fodders for his livestock at his village Rautahat.</image:title>
<image:caption>Kedar shared his bond with SDSS as a life-saving organization. After becoming a person with SCI, he lost all the hopes of his life, later on he encountered SDSS through Sundar Dhoka Church (SDC). His life changing journey with SDSS started as a handicraft therapist, where he got a job to work in a handcraft department as well as got support of accommodation within the organization. The accessible infrastructure and motivating personalities of the organization had fueled him to live his life in a wheelchair. Initially he learned to make stuff in handicraft and started living within the organization premises. However, a few years later he chose to live on his own as a part of social inclusion and independent living.</image:caption>
